As a pediatric mental health nurse, he spent his days helping children facing emotional and psychological challenges. At home, he and his wife, Ivey, were raising six children, including five adopted sons who had overcome incredibly difficult beginnings through foster care.<\/p>\n

He later became a worship leader, songwriter, and singer, but chose to build a career in healthcare instead of pursuing music full-time. For years, he balanced both callings, believing that nursing allowed him to care for people in one way while music allowed him to encourage and inspire them in another.<\/p>\n

Michael and Ivey\u2019s family became one of the defining parts of his life. Their oldest child, Sophie, is their biological daughter, while their five sons were adopted through foster care. Several of the boys had experienced abuse, homelessness, or unsafe living conditions before joining the Ketterer family. Michael has often said that every child deserves the chance to grow up in a safe, loving home where they are free to dream about their future.<\/p>\n
